DANONE CONVERTS FRENCH DAIRY TO OAT MILK PLANT WITH $49 MILLION INVESTMENT

Another Dairy converts to the rising demand of plant milks! Danone announced its conversion from dairy to oat milk with it’s popular Alpro brand. With Danone’s sight set on 2025, Danone aims to increase its global plant-based sales to $6 billion. Danone’s focus on oat milk is in step with a recent study by Future Market Insights,(F.M.I.), siting industry trends for oatmilk products to grow at a CAGR of 8.2% between 2018 and 2027.

“Something that was once just a mere specialty item for health-conscious consumers –organic oat drinks — has now become a staple in retail channels globally.” F.M.I.

Danone:
“We observe consumers’ interest in plant-based products, which are a simple solution for those who want a more varied and diversified diet.” Fraçois Eyraud, General Director of Danone Products, France, said in a statement.

This is not just a growing trend but the future for dairy. Dairy will be obsolete between the eco-disasters from raising animals, and conscious consumers for their health and the caring of animal welfare.
