Fair Life? Largest Dairy Undercover Investigation at Fair Oaks Farms/MILK DRINKER SUES WITH CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR “EXTRAORDINARY CARE AND COMFORT” CLAIMS

Fair Life? “EXTRAORDINARY CARE AND COMFORT?”

A California resident, Alain Michael, filed a lawsuit, seeking class-action status against ‘Fairlife’ a dairy company and their owners, Michael and Sue McCloskey, the owners of a supplier, ‘Fair Oaks Farm’ in Indiana. Michael purchased the ‘Fairlife’ distributed by Coca-Cola solely based on the company’s adverts of providing “extraordinary care and comfort” for its cows.

The lawsuit sheds light on the “humane” fraud that Animal Recovery Mission (ARM) uncovered. They released footage supporting evidence for the “largest undercover dairy investigation in history” at Fair Oaks Farms in Fair Oaks, Indiana. The farm is one of the largest dairy farms in the U.S. and produces the Fairlife milk brand in conjunction with the Coca-Cola company, according to The Indianapolis Star. The farm is tourist destination that deceives the public into thinking that animals are treated humanely when it is far from the truth.

ARM Investigators witnessed on virtually a daily basis:
Employees were observed *SLAPPING, KICKING, PUNCHING, PUSHING, THROWING and SLAMMING BABY CALVES; CALVES WERE STABBED AND BEATEN WITH STEAL REBARS, HIT IN THE MOUTH AND FACE WITH HARD PLASTIC MILKING BOTTLES, KNEED IN THE SPINE, BURNED IN THE FACE WITH HOT BRANDING IRONS, SUBJECTED TO EXTREME TEMPERATURES, PROVIDED WITH IMPROPER NUTRITION, AND DENIED MEDICAL ATTENTION. This resulted in extreme pain and suffering by the calves, and in some cases permanent injury and even death. ARM INVESTIGATORS WITNESSED AND TOOK NO PART IN THE ABUSE. THE INVESTIGATION WAS LONG IN ORDER TO COMPILE EVIDENCE. Undercover Investigations are the hardest work to bare witness to this suffering.

ARM Founder Richard Couto told The Indianapolis Star that the footage was taken by an undercover investigator who was hired by Fair Oaks as a calf caretaker at its Prairies Edge North Barn from August to November 2018.
“The abuse began day one, hour one,” Couto said.

Animal Recovery Mission calls on the Coca-Cola Corporation, which claims to have a progressive stance on animal welfare, to end their relationship with Fairlife Corporation and cut their ties with the veal industry.

The investigation also confirmed that male calves were being sent to veal farms, despite the company’s claims to the contrary.

“It is with great disappointment to find, after closely reviewing the released ARM video, that there were five individuals committing multiple instances of animal cruelty and despicable judgement. I am disgusted by and take full responsibility for the actions seen in the footage, as it goes against everything that we stand for in regards to responsible cow care and comfort. The employees featured in the video exercised a complete and total disregard for the documented training that all employees go through to ensure the comfort, safety and well-being of our animals,” McClouskey said in a statement reported by ABC7.

However, Couto expressed doubt about McCloskey’s denials.

“He is a seasoned dairy man and doesn’t need me to point out what is wrong with his company,” Couto told The Indianapolis Star. “He is playing the innocent bystander here, but it is his corporation and he knows what is go[ing] on.”

We are asking Fair Oaks Farms to leave with the calves with their mothers moving forward,” said ARM founder Richard Couto told RTV6. “They’re dying from not eating and want their mother’s udders.”

Couto said he’s also asking the farm to not send calves to veal operations.

Couto said Fair Oaks Farms should sever its ties with Fairlife and the farm should get out of the milk industry entirely.”

The Diary Industry is built on horror for mothers and baby calves alike. There is no “humane” in artificially inseminating a mother cow on a constant basis and removing their babies into hutches where they are barely able to move and all the abuses are rampant in this industry.
