According to one the largest highly rated food delivery app from the UK, ‘Just Eats’, rated at five stars, they’ve coined veganism as the top consumer trend in 2018 due to users wanting to lead healthier lifestyles. ‘Just Eats’ Marketing Director, Edel Kinane, recognizes vegan food to be “the biggest food trend in the coming year.” “The results from this year are a good insight into the future consumer trends, and while convenience will continue to be key for consumers next year and beyond, we know that they are increasingly looking for more diverse, healthy, gluten-free, and plant-based vegan options.”
The Mirror respectively reflects an even higher surge for the year 2018 by an amazing 987% increase in demand for vegetarian and vegan food options this year. With this trend on the rise Restaurants will be catering quick to the demand of this increase by offering healthy options of healthy vegan/vegetarian foods and we will see the demand for meat and dairy expotentially be much lower than ever expected.
They attribute this rise to all the beautiful vegan food and lifestyle instagram photos, showing the beauty and deliciousness of just how good, healthy and tasty the vegan plant-based foods can be!
Also, people are awakening to the harm that meat and dairy have on your health, and this downward spiral is in large part to the documentaries, “What the Health”, “Forks Over Knives”, and people reading books and researching the truth of just how meat and dairy contribute to the obesity epidemic, some cancers, heart disease and diabetes. Eating a whole-foods plant based diet has been proven to reverse many of these diseases.
We will continue to rise, vegan is never going to be a fad.
